Hemlane provides the ability to add multiple units to a single rental property (for apartments, condos, and other multiunit buildings). Property management operations can be viewed and reported at the property or unit level. Here are a couple of helpful resources on getting started with unit level reporting.
Adding your first multiunit property
When you add a property with multiple units, you will want to add the first unit at the same time. Otherwise, the (blank) unit will be added to your Hemlane subscription. Follow these steps to add the first unit. Please note that you follow a similar process if you walk through our onboarding process.
Tip! You do not need to add a (blank) unit to perform tasks for all units. Maintenance & Repair and Financials will allow you to select a certain unit or all units for each property with multiple units.
Adding a second unit to an existing property
You can add the second unit by clicking on the same [Add Property] button (from the above process) and selecting "New unit in a previously entered property."
Alternatively, visit the property and add the unit(s) under the [House | Unit] tab:
Consolidate two existing units into the same property
Do you have two units, each listed as a separate property? Here are the step to consolidate the units.
Which unit should I transfer in the Properties drop down? If both units have the same address, then it may be difficult to tell the difference between the units in the Properties drop down. Do not worry -- it does not matter which unit is selected, as long as they have the same service professionals and members.
What information is transferred? When you combine units by transferring one unit into another property, Tenants, Service Request, Leads, and other pertinent information is transferred. The only items not transferred are Service Professionals and Members.
