Some users may not reside in the US or may not have a tax ID such as an SSN (Social Security Number) or EIN (Employer Identification Number) which impacts the Hemlane experience in two ways:
(1) A screening report cannot be processed
If an applicant does not have a SSN, a screening cannot be submitted and processed for them.

(2) A bank account cannot be attached within Hemlane
Hemlane and our partner companies believe your online security is of top importance. Therefore, our payment processor requires all users to verify their identity using a verifiable tax ID (SSN or EIN) and authorize their access to any bank account(s) or credit/debit card(s) added within Hemlane.
At this time there is no way for a user to attach their banking information within Hemlane if they do not have an SSN or EIN to be used to verify their identity. For more information regarding Hemlane's security standards, please view our article "How secure is Hemlane? For payments, SSN, etc.".
