Hemlane is required to collect sales tax in certain states based on applicable state and local tax laws. Sales tax requirements vary by location and may include state, county, or other local jurisdiction taxes.
Sales tax is applied based on your credentials address and the tax regulations in your state or local jurisdiction. Some states also require county or city-level taxes, which may affect the total tax amount charged.
What Charges Have Sales Tax Applied?
Sales tax is only applied to monthly subscription fees. If your location requires it, sales tax will automatically be added to your Hemlane subscription invoice.
The following charges may have sales tax applied depending on your location:
- Monthly Hemlane subscription fees
Sales tax is not applied to one-time or pass-through charges, including:
- Premium advertising fees
- Repair and maintenance work orders, unless charged by the vendor, in which case tax is collected by the vendor and not by Hemlane
- Any other one-time services or charges
How Sales Tax Appears on Your Invoice
If sales tax applies, it will be listed as a separate line item on your invoice. The tax rate is determined by your billing address and applicable state and local tax laws.
