If an applicant believes their screening report contains incorrect information, they can dispute the background or credit report. To do so, the applicant must contact the TransUnion Dispute Department directly at 1-800-916-8800 or email them at turssdispute@transunion.com.
They guarantee dispute resolution within 30 calendar days of the dispute being filed.
Regarding the background and eviction check:
Hemlane’s screening process uses subject selection to accurately match records to applicants while minimizing false positives. The system cross-checks the applicant’s first, middle, and last name, full address, date of birth, and Social Security number against the Instant National Search.
In addition, a unique enrichment feature identifies previous addresses and any aliases (AKAs), helping to ensure that the background and eviction check is thorough and accurate.
