If an applicant believes their screening report was returned incorrectly, they can dispute the background record or the credit information. They’ll need to contact TransUnion Dispute Department at 1-800-916-8800 or email them at turssdispute@transunion.com.
They guarantee dispute resolution within 30 calendar days of the dispute being filed.
Regarding the background and eviction check:
Our screening process uses subject selection when returning and matching records to consumers. This matches logic to eliminate false positives. It works by cross checking first, middle, and last name, full address, date of birth, and SSN against the Instant National Search. It also utilizes a unique enrichment feature which identifies previous addresses and aliases/AKAs.
