Hemlane makes it easy for tenants to pay rent online. The system sends email reminders close to the due date, and your dashboard provides notifications for upcoming and late payments to help keep the process smooth.
Tenants can pay online using two methods in Hemlane:
- ACH (bank-to-bank) transfers (preferred method)
- Using a credit or debit card; if allowed by the property manager
ACH transfers are free of charge and typically take 2–3 business days for verified accounts. For first-time payments or accounts that are not fully verified, transfers generally take 5 business days and may take up to 10 business days for risk review.
Credit/debit card transactions do require an extra fee of 3% of the total charge. This fee can be assigned to either the payor (tenant) or the payee (property manager), depending on the property manager’s settings.
