Screening reports are comprehensive background and credit checks requested by property managers. These reports are soft pulls, meaning they will not affect a tenant’s credit score. The fee for the screening is $40 and is charged to the tenant. Both the tenant and the owner receive a copy of the completed report.
The $40 screening fee is non-refundable.
Notice of the non-refundable fee is included in the email notification sent as soon as a screening is requested.
Once payment is submitted, information is immediately collected and processed to generate the report. Because the $40 fee covers the cost of collecting, processing, and delivering this information, we are unable to provide refunds for services that have already been rendered.
If you would like to speak with your property manager about a refund, you can send them a direct message using the Messages tab on the left side main menu in your Hemlane account.
