Yes. Tenants can pay via credit or debit card, though an additional fee applies. All major credit cards are accepted, including American Express and Discover. When setting up a payment request, the owner chooses whether the tenant or the owner will cover the additional 3% fee.
To Accept Credit and Debit Card Payments From Tenants
Step 1: Create a payment request.
Step 2: Select “Allow credit/debit/Cash App” and choose whether the payor or payee will cover the fee. Hemlane defaults to the payor covering this additional fee.
Step 3: When the tenant goes to pay online, they will be notified whether credit and debit card payments are available for that request. If they choose to pay by card, they will be shown the additional fee before confirming their payment.
Step 4: The additional convenience fee will also appear on the payment request details once the tenant confirms their payment.
Please note that in the event of a payment dispute on a credit card, the receiving user will be subject to a 3% fee.
