Completing a move-out inspection can be beneficial for both owners and tenants in many ways, and Hemlane is here to help! Here are some of the key advantages to completing a move out inspection:
- Property Condition Documentation: Conducting a move-out inspection allows the landlord to document the condition of the rental property after the tenant has moved out.
- Identifying Damages: The inspection helps identify any damages to the property. This includes any excessive wear and tear beyond normal usage, which may be eligible for deductions from the security deposit.
- Turnover Repairs: The inspection allows the landlord to identify any repairs or maintenance issues that need to be addressed promptly before a new tenant moves in. This ensures that the property is in good condition and ready for the next tenant.
- Legal Compliance: In some jurisdictions, such as California and Colorado, a pre-move-out inspection is required by law to determine if there are any issues that the tenant is responsible for.
- Peace of Mind: Completing a move-out inspection gives the landlord peace of mind knowing that the property is in good condition, or it provides an opportunity to address any issues promptly.
How does Hemlane help with move-out inspections?
Hemlane partners with Inspectify to offer comprehensive move out inspections for vacant units. We can coordinate entry to the home with a lockbox, key under the mat, keypad or with an owner for a convenient time.
Once the inspection is complete, we will send you the report within 24-48 hours for your review!

Please note, this report does not include inspection of the inside of appliances. We encourage you to review the sample report to see everything that is included in the move out inspection.
Please also note, our inspection report is not able to confirm what damages were caused by the tenant during the time of stay, as we only complete a move out inspection, and do not cross reference with any other move-in inspection that was conducted.
