Hemlane allows you to create and send lease agreements to Approved Applicants who have applied for your property, submitted an application, and been approved by your team. To use the lease creation feature, the applicant must be listed as an Approved Applicant in the Prospective Tenants tab.
If you do not see your applicant under Approved Applicants, you can learn how to approve them here: “How do I approve an Applicant to become an Approved Applicant?”
Below are step-by-step instructions on how to create a lease agreement and send it for electronic signatures.
Step 1: Go to the Approved Applicants section within the Prospective Tenants tab and click on the Approved Applicant’s name to get started.
Step 2: In the Overview tab, look for the To-Do section and select “Sign or create a residential lease.”
Step 3: On the next screen, select “I need to create a lease” to start building the agreement.
Step 4: Use the lease creation tool to confirm and update information. Most details will auto-fill from the applicant’s application.
Step 5: Add any required attachments, such as local disclosures, and review all details for accuracy. Once you have confirmed everything, you can generate your lease agreement.
Step 6: Once the lease is generated, default signature fields will be mapped. You may add additional e-sign boxes for yourself and the applicant. If needed, use the Manage button to add additional signees.
Step 7: Double-check everything, then click Review and Send to send the lease for electronic signatures.
Step 8: Review all of the information and make any changes that may be required, then click Send Lease.
