A payment may fail for a number of reasons. The most common cause is insufficient funds, but failures can also result from incorrect banking information on file, a previously closed account, or an expired credit or debit card.
When a payment fails, both you and the payor will be notified via email.
After a payment has failed, Hemlane will not automatically retry it. Once the payor has resolved the issue with their account, they will need to manually submit payment directly through their Hemlane account.
Please note that Hemlane will never charge your users any fees for failed payments such as a non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee. If a user has been charged an NSF fee, they should contact their bank directly for more information.
