A payment may fail due to many different reasons; the most common failure is due to insufficient funds. Other payment failures may result from incorrect banking information on file, the account having been previously closed, or a credit/debit card may be expired.
When a payment fails, you and the payor will be alerted to the failure via email:
After a payment has failed, Hemlane will not automatically retry the payment. Instead, once the payor's account has been updated, the payor will need to manually submit payment directly through their Hemlane account.
Hemlane will never charge your user any fees for failed payments, such as a non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee. If your user has received any fee due to NSF, please have them contact their bank directly for more information.
